753 - ThanksGiving Feast - Pattern
And now for a ThanksGiving Texture...
Sit down and enjoy the texture... your mother worked all day on it, so you kids had better be nice, and tell her how much you enjoy the meal. No Mary, you can't have your dessert first. John, leave your tie on.... Grandma like seeing you with it on. Perter.... I better not catch you stuffing mashed potatoes in your pockets this year. .... or else!

671 - Scared Ghost & Pac-Man - Pattern
When Pac-Man was released, most arcade video games in North America were primarily space shooters such as Space Invaders, Defender, or Asteroids. The most visible minority were sports games that were mostly derivative of Pong. Pac-Man succeeded by creating a new genre and appealing to both genders. Pac-Man is often credited with being a landmark in video game history, and is among the most famous arcade games of all time. The character also appears in more than 30 officially licensed game spin-offs, as well as in numerous unauthorized clones and bootlegs. According to the Davie-Brown Index, Pac-Man has the highest brand awareness of any video game character among American consumers, recognized by 94 percent of them. --- Wikipedia

Reclining Light-Ocelot
This is my submission for the current Ubuntu development cycle's (Oneiric Ocelot) wallpaper contest.
Lacking inspiration (:sigh: us artistes...) I decided to just go with the official Ubuntu branding colors and a stylized version of the mascot.
I find the gradient and lighting to be mellow, and the abstract (lazy) ocelot not TOO distracting. Hope you like it!
It was made entirely in Blender, using the Freestyle renderer for the wireframe on the polygonal medium-kitty.
(I, for one, will be using it once Oneiric releases ;)
(Lighter version here.)
There's another version with the ocelot in a more dynamic posture!
A "daytime" render of this scene is also available.

The Islands of the Cyclops
Of the coast of Aci Trezza are three tall, column-shaped islands. According to local legend, these great stones are the ones thrown at Odysseus in The Odyssey. The islands are referred to as the "isole dei ciclopi" (islands of the Cyclops, or Cyclopean Isles) by locals. This compliments the notion that the Cyclops once had a smithy below Mount Etna, which looms over the village to the northwest.
Aci Trezza is a town in Sicily, southern Italy, a frazione of the comune of Aci Castello, c. 10 km north of Catania, with a population of around 5,000 people. Located on the coast of the Ionian Sea, the village has a long history of maritime activity. Aci Trezza is a popular spot for Italian vacationers in the summer. The patron Saint of the town is St. John the Baptist. The Festa of San Giovanni is celebrated each year during the last week of June 24 in his honor.
